Offered for sale is a Rolex 3540, manufactured circa 1947 (based on the serial number), a classic manual-wind dress watch that embodies Rolex's understated post-war design and exceptional Swiss craftsmanship.
The watch features an attractive silver dial signed "Rolex Shock-Resisting", with applied gold-tone Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9, faceted gold-tone baton hour markers, elegant dauphine hands and a recessed small seconds sub-dial at 6 o'clock. The dial displays an honest, even patina that complements its vintage character.
Housed within the 34mm stainless steel case is a signed Rolex 15 Rubis Swiss Made manual-wind movement. The inside caseback is correctly stamped Rolex Reference 3540, confirming the reference. The watch has also been recently serviced and is running well.
The watch is fitted with a quality brown Hirsch lizard leather strap with a stainless steel pin buckle bearing an "H" logo.

Presented in very good vintage condition, the watch shows honest signs of age consistent with a timepiece approaching 80 years old. The dial has developed a pleasing light patina with minor age-related marks, while the stainless steel case shows light surface wear from careful use over the years.
The movement has been recently serviced and is running well. As with all vintage watches, long-term accuracy and water resistance cannot be guaranteed.
The watch is fitted with a brown Hirsch lizard leather strap in very good used condition. The strap is secured by a stainless steel pin buckle bearing an "H" logo and is a later replacement, not original to the watch.
