A pressure test, also known as a water resistance test, is a test that determines the water resistance of a watch. This test is performed by using an air pressure chamber, or a machine that can provide an accurate measurement of water pressure in atmospheres (ATM). 1 ATM is equal to 10 meters of water resistance.
Pressure testing involves subjecting the watch to increased air or water pressure to simulate real-life conditions. There are different methods for pressure testing, including dry testing and wet testing. Dry testing checks the watch’s ability to withstand air pressure, while wet testing involves submerging the watch in water to test its water resistance. These tests are conducted by experienced technicians using specialised equipment.
We offer both wet and dry pressure testing.
